Kerala visit to sanctuaries protecting endemic animals

In July, the monsoon month in Kerala, I visited three sanctuaries, Thenmala butterfly sanctuary, Eravikulam Reserve and Silent Valley National Park.   These sanctuaries protect the Southern Birdwing Butterfly (the biggest in India), the Nilgiri Tahr and the Lion tailed macaque, in that order.

See what I saw through these you Tube videos.

Jahanpanah City Forest

Dilli Meri Jaan walks Sundays/holidays in a Park in Delhi and anyone interested in talking about trees, nature, birds etc is welcome to join. Delhi's tryst with Parks is ancient. Development activities have taken a toll in some places but citizen activism has made sure that only minimal and essential damage is done. Walking with Jayati who runs Dilli Meri Jaan is an experience. The walk hosted by her and Ajit in Jahanpanah Park had more than 30 walkers of all ages. If you are interested in walking with Jayati, here is her facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dillimeriijaan/ To see more videos on Jayati's walks, please see our playlist"DilliMeriJaan"

Sutlej River and Sangla Valley

Memories of the days when digital photography was not there!  Finally these precious memories in analogue format are now converted into digital and I will be presenting these stories one by one in my memory lane playlist of our You Tube Channel "IndianWildlifeClub"

Do comment on the You Tube channel and write how these areas are now transformed, sometimes for the better, but more often environmentally disastrous.
